Project Update: Improvements to the Parking Lot Behind Brews at the Square

The Town of Pendleton is moving forward with an important improvement project for the parking lot behind Brews at the Square. This work will modernize the area, improve safety, and support future upgrades planned for nearby businesses.

What the Project Will Do

This project includes:

  • Replacing old asphalt and concrete to create a smoother and longer-lasting parking area.

  • Fixing drainage issues by installing new storm pipes and inlets to prevent flooding.

  • Upgrading water and sewer lines that serve nearby buildings and future redevelopment.

  • Adding new sidewalks, curbs, and ADA-accessible ramps to improve safety for everyone walking in the area.

  • Improving the layout with new pavement striping, signs, and better traffic flow.

  • Adding landscaping and green space to enhance the look and feel of the area.

  • Relocating utilities such as light poles, mailboxes, and signs to match the new design.

How the Project Will Be Built

The project will be completed in several steps:

  1. Site preparation and demolition of old pavement and damaged infrastructure.

  2. Installation of underground utilities, including upgraded water, sewer, and drainage systems.

  3. Reconstruction of the parking lot, including new curbs, sidewalks, ramps, and asphalt paving.

  4. Final additions such as landscaping, lighting adjustments, and pavement markings.

Why This Matters

These improvements address long-standing issues with drainage, aging utilities, and outdated infrastructure. Once complete, the parking lot will be safer, more accessible, more attractive, and better equipped to support the businesses and community activity around the Square.
