The water main was damaged by a drilling contractor using a shovel. Approximately two feet of the damaged water line was removed and replaced. Due to the loss of system pressure caused by the line break, a Boil Water Advisory was issued for the affected area. The damaged section of the water main was isolated from the remainder of the distribution system to minimize impacts during repairs.
Recycling Update: Curbside recycling is temporarily paused effective June 29, 2026, due to the Town’s recycling truck being out of service. Recycling carts placed at the curb during this time will be collected as trash. Residents may continue recycling by visiting the Anderson County Recycling Center at 600 East Queen Street.
The Depot Building is a welcoming, climate-controlled facility available for community use. With seating, tables, and chairs for up to 50 guests, it is well-suited for meetings, celebrations, and small events. The building includes restroom facilities for guest convenience and is available for rental daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
