West Pendleton Neighborhood Revitalization
The West Pendleton Neighborhood Revitalization Project is a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the safety and accessibility of the community. Funded by a $500,000 grant and an additional $676,636 from the Town's fund balance, this project reflects the town's commitment to improving the quality of life for its residents.
A dedicated committee, comprised of residents from the proposed project area and surrounding neighborhoods, was established to develop the Neighborhood Revitalization Plan. Approved by the Town Council in October 2022, the plan includes the addition of sidewalks along Winston Street, sidewalk replacement, curb and gutter installation, security cameras, and crosswalks to improve pedestrian safety.
During the design phase, it was determined that converting Winston Street to a one-way street would optimize the project’s effectiveness. We anticipate the start date from June 30 to July 7, with a 210-day construction period to complete. We are eager to see these improvements take shape and bring new vitality to the West Pendleton neighborhood.
