The Town of Pendleton entered into an agreement with the City of Clemson in 2002 to provide transit service for Pendleton's citizens.
Clemson Area Transit is a public service provided fare-free by Clemson University, the City of Clemson, the Town of Central, the Town of Pendleton, the City of Seneca, Anderson County, the SCDOT, and the Federal Transit Administration.
